    Michael Thompson, son of Marci (& Douglas) Thompson, grandson of Carenbeth (& Gary) Linden and of the late Morwin Rockowitz, great-grandson of Mirel "Mimi" Marvy and of the late Laurence "Babe" Marvy, began treatment for Acute Myelogenous Leukemia in San Francisco in April 2008 and continues treatment in June 2009. Sienna was named Zahava bat Noah at a simhat bat naming ceremony at Shir Tikvah, Minneapolis, MN.

  • Bar Mitzva: Tsvi Benson-Tilsen

    Tsvi Benson-Tilsen, son of Jon-Jay Tilsen & Miriam E. Benson, celebrated becoming a bar mitzva at Congregation Beth El-Keser Israel in New Haven, Connecticut, on Shabbat 17-18 February 2006. Tsvi's bar mitzva project was to install a photovoltaic array on the synagogue roof.

  • Death Notice: Elizabeth Saichek

    Elizabeth Saichek, daughter Judy Weinstein Saichek and of the late David Saichek, died on 19 March 2005. Elizabeth is also survived by her brother Michael (& Ellen) Saichek. Elizabeth was a great-granddaughter of the late Jacob & Tobel (Tilsen) Saichek.

Benson, grandson of Robert & Sandy Tilsen and of the late Joy Tilsen, was born on Tuesday 17 June 2003, and entered into the covenant through brit mila (rite of circumcision) in New Haven, Connecticut, on the eighth day. Noam is named after his grandfather Morton Benson (of blessed memory). The name "Noam נֽעם" is Hebrew for pleasantness or sweetness, and was chosen from the inital and final letters of Morton's name and the names of Noam's great-grandfathers Edward Nahman Tilsen and Menahem-Mandel Mandel Franer
